I am running a dating app advert on Facebook. I set my budget at $30 and my cost cap at $.30. My ads are approved but I’ve only gotten 3 impressions in 2 days. Any advice?

This is normal. Facebook ads are very different from Google Ads from what I’ve discovered and my experience.

By setting a cost cap, and assuming thats $0.30 CPC (assuming whatever other restrictions you have like interest targeting), it may not be as competitive against the other advertisers in that pool for competing for the limited impression set.

If you have no other restrictions, then your bid may not be high enough still.

You might want to try increasing the CPC to $0.50 or more.

I typically spend $2-$3 per click on ecommerce related fb ads expense, targeting mobile as well.

Typically for Facebook Ads, you don’t want to set cost controls the way you do with Adwords.

You want to set it it opimize by conversion, and then set the goal that you want for best results. After 50 conversions, FB algo gets smarter and your CPI/CPA will get lower.

Hey Taige, echoing what Hanson mentioned earlier.

For one, $0.30 CPCs are very cheap on Facebook. While achievable, it’s usually very difficult to do in a competitive niche like dating.

Since you’re new to running FB ads I’d try to first establish a baseline of your CPCs. Two ways you can do this are:
1) Increase your cost cap gradually until you get some spend.
2) Remove cost caps and control your spend with daily budgets.

Within a few days of testing you should find what your CPC is. Then it’s all about optimizing your ads and dating funnel from there.
